TRANSMISSION TRUSS ROD SYSTEM®
The patented Transmission Truss Rod System (TTRS) allows for two-way adjustment of the concavity/convexity of a guitar neck without the need to remove cover plates, or disassemble any part of the instrument while the instrument is strung to pitch. Adjustment is simply made by inserting an allen wrench into a small hole in the middle of the neck between the last two frets of the instrument. This eliminates the problem of trying to maneuver a wrench at difficult angles into recessed cavities between strings with limited motion, or disassembling the neck to make adjustments. The TTRS makes neck adjustment simple and precise while strung to pitch.
The TTRS mechanism is fixed at the body end of the neck. The double rods extend from the mechanism towards the peghead of the instrument in an approx 3/8″ deep channel.

How is the TTRS installed? Installation of the TTRS must be made when the instrument is constructed. Installation requires a precise cavity at the body end of the neck to anchor the TTRS and allow for accurate placement of the adjustment screw relative to the fretboard.
What Length is the Truss Rod? The length of the truss rod is dependent upon many factors unique to the guitar in which it is being installed and is available in common lengths that should accommodate most instruments.
Can it correct bow back bow and forward bow of the neck? Yes. The TTRS uses two steel rods that are welded together to correct upbow and backbow without adding compressive force to the neck than can potentially cause a neck to twist.
Is the TTRS available for sale? Yes. See Shop page for ordering info. Devices are made in a small shop and are put into inventory as soon as they are made.
Who should buy one? The TTRS can only be installed in a newly built guitar. Because of this, only people who are guitar makers should install one. The ideal customer is a custom guitar builder or manufacturer that would like to offer their customers something new.
Who should buy one? The TTRS can only be incorporated into newly built guitars. Because of this, only people who are skilled at the art of lutherie should install one.
Future Plans? A utility patent was filed in 2016 for the truss rod system. Patent US 9,805,698 B1, TRUSS ROD TENSIONING MECHANISM, was approved Oct. 31, 2017 . The goal is to either manufacture for, and/or partner with instrument manufacturers.
